CARTRIDGE GRAIN
Cartridge Grain is a project by Emanuele Specchia and Roberto Ficosecco.
The project has its roots in original sonic experiments, born from the union of two distinct practices: on the one hand, the use of the turntable with recycled materials, which generates essential rhythms rich in noise; on the other, the recording of concrete samples, subsequently processed through granular synthesis algorithms to create immersive soundscapes and ambient textures.
The duo has released several records, including the album Sattwa (Krysalisound) and the more recent Stanze (Shimmering Moods Records).

"A beautiful balance between lo-fi noises, crackles, deep resonances and subtle production. Balancing all these characteristics, Cartridge Grain creates a serene, peaceful and balanced soundscape... Not far from the slowed-down sound of Basic Channel."
